Pastor Caroline - April 30, 2020

The picture you see this morning is on the front cover of my Amplified Study Bible. The tree seems to be symbolic as to how we are rooted in Christ. This is what I see when I look at this picture, and I see one trunk and many branches, like us, one body and many parts. Christ is the Head and we are the body.

   “God has made us what we are, and in our Union with Christ Jesus He has created us for a life of good deeds, which He has already prepared us to do”. Ephesians Chapter 2 verse 10. (Good News Bible)

Do you ever wonder why you are here on earth? What are you to do with this existence? Are you meant to be a Prime Minister, or a minister of God’s word as a priest for the Lord, a great artist or a talented author, the list could go on and on. Do you have a place of importance in this life?

Well our Heavenly Father tells us in Romans chapter 12 verses 5-8,(Good News Bible), that we are very important.
(5) In the same way, that we are many, we are one body in union with Christ, and we are all joined to each other as different parts of one body.
(6) So we are to use our different gifts in accordance with the grace that God has given us. If our gift is to speak God’s message, we should do it according to the faith that we have;
(7) if it is to serve, we should serve, if it is to teach, we should teach
(8) if it is to encourage others, we should do so. Whoever shares with others should do it generously; whoever has authority should work hard; whoever shows kindness to others should do it cheerfully.

Ephesians and Romans(the scriptures shared today), tell us that we are to do the work of God‘s kingdom here on earth. We are to do good deeds, spread the word of the Lord, serve, teach, encourage, share, work hard and be kind. We are to work together, (one body), many hands make light work, it is often said.

So no more wondering  why you’re here - - - YOU are here in union with Christ Jesus, to do His work which He has already planned and prepared and given you the ability to do. No one person is greater than the other, we are all equal at the foot of the cross. We are people who need people and each gift we have, can and will benefit others, and further the kingdom of God here on earth.

We are all missing one another right now and this proves to me that we need one another, we are one body. During COVID-19, I personally miss our Sunday services, our church gatherings, music practice, Bible study, and coffee time after Bible study. I miss the one on one visits with my church family members and people who I meet on a daily basis with whom I can share the word of God and invite them to join our family — the family of God.

As you sit alone with God during this time of isolation, take time to reflect on who you are and what God is calling you to do in your lifetime. We may never know “all” God has created us to do at this time, but, “we do know He has a purpose and a plan for our lives”. See Jeremiah chapter 29 verse 11. The further we walk in our journey the more we will learn about our existence here on earth. God created you for a reason and He alone gives you your worth. You are priceless!! And YOU are God’s creation; for a reason.

Be blessed today in who He made you to be as your bring Glory to Him.

Now let’s go out on in our yard and enjoy the sunshine.  ðŸŒž
