Pastor Caroline - April 7, 2020

On this beautiful sunny day our reading from David Jeremiah‘s book “Daily in His Presence”is in entitled Joy- the Business of Heaven.

Joy- the Business of Heaven- Well over the past few weeks and into the next number of weeks or months,  COVID-19 does not seem to bring “joy”. Rather I would say people are anxious,  fearful,  upset and wondering how long will this isolation last? Well my friend I do not know the answer to that question.

However, like Hannah in our reading today, if we stay “positive” and have a “thankful heart” and “a joyful attitude“ this time of uncertainty will pass. When we “give thanks in every day” our day is lived more fully. Our “heads are lifted“ and “our spirit is alive and well“ because we know our Heavenly Father  is in control. He knows the beginning from the end and we “must“ put our “trust”in Him alone.

Even during this Holy Week as we recall the events of 2000 years ago, the journey to the cross was a “dark time for all.“ Jesus would foretell His death as we read in John Chapter 12 verses 20 to 36. Please take time to read this. Jesus trusted God to be with Him during this time and Jesus knew he had to “complete the purpose of the Lord”. Jesus knew that by His death, life would come; “joy” would truly be — the business of heaven.

So rejoice in the Lord always. And again I say: Rejoice!

May the Lord fill your heart with joy especially in these times, as you put your trust in Him.
