Dr. Spencer Barclay- Something to Think About

There is more to existence than what we can see. Many people will not believe unless they experience with their 5 senses. There are many realities that exist today because people thought outside the box. Examples such as cell phones and communicating with people over the internet  and television and life saving medical technology and developments. These types of beneficial innovations could have hardly have been imagined two hundred years ago.

In Revelation chapter 19 John saw the throne room of God. In Revelation Chapter  21 we read of walls of Jasper and a city of  pure Gold and in Revelation Chapter 22 we read of a river clear as Crystal. To the secular and unbelieving world this would seem like Science Fiction.  Yet John fully believed.

But as it is written,  Eye hath  no seen nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

This verse noted above talks about Heaven, but also holds true about Hell, for those who refuse Christ.

The book of Revelation clearly tells us there is a Heaven and a Hell. If we think outside the box, beyond this earthly world, we will understand and appreciate John's warning. Therefore with our belief in salvation  through Christ's death on the cross and  commitment to live for Christ and a life of Godly actions. We can steer clear from Hell and be assured that Heaven is our eternal home.

Natalie Mac Donald- Speaker of the Night

Many fairy tales have a hidden message and meaning an example would be stories such as Little Red Riding Hood.

Stories written during the time of the Black Plague were used to teach children and adults about cleanliness. Fairy tales teach us about compassion and how not to be gullible. Many reoccurring themes that often appear in fairy  tales are such as a damsel in distress always gets the prince. There are stories such as Peter Pan who wanted to stay young forever, yet we know that growing up is not so bad and is actually a good thing.

Many people who have not experienced salvation through Christ, may think of Christianity as a fairy tale and not appreciate it's true eternal message. Jesus spoke in parables teaching a truth in a story. This was a clear way for the common people to comprehend and understand what he was saying.

John 14:15-31 The Holy Spirit came not as a physical being, but as a spiritual being. This holds true today when the Holy Spirit is involved in your life you will be a better Christian witness. Examples of this is being a better employee in the work place and being a better friend to others.

In our daily lives we will experience real villains who hurt us and real heroes who help us. As Christians we will go through hard times, we will have to pray and fight for our marriages and children's salvation. However the Holy Spirit is always with us and Jesus promised to never leave or forsake us.

Revelation 17:14  As Christians we know how the story ends, Jesus Christ the Lamb wins. He wins in splendid triumph for all eternity.

On this earth when we will go through hard times, we can rest assured that for the committed Christian there is a happy ending-Eternity in Heaven.

Some notes from Sunday's service.  (Thanks, Heather)

Hello there!

I first want to remind you that you can have videos of the service on https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrUaNS-N8LPEpsbWiJDYloQ.

Sometimes I as being ministered to and forget 'oh yah, I'm supposed to be taking notes'   haha

Something to Think About

- Boston Marathon bombers...

- What is fair??

- Romans 6:23 says "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

- Is it fair that man is going to die because of sin?

- Is it fair that Christ died? That 'death' was the answer?!

- Ephesians 4:7 tells us "But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ's gift."

- Is it fair that God is not passing judgement OR is it fair for Him because we are not listening/obeying?!

The Message ~ Stacey Dlamini

- John 4 - Story of the Samaritan woman at the well.

- 'When you hit a woman, you hit a rock.'  We are powerful creatures!

- If men have extra money they blow it in bars; if women have extra money, they spend in on their kids and family.

- Like the Samaritan woman, God is NOT intimidated by our hot messed lives!!

- He doesn't reach down from on high into our situation... He gets right down in the 'dirty' with us, like the woman caught in adultery

- God offers an alternative.

- The woman at the well, she was the King Pin! Jesus got to that city through this lady, through her testimony.

- Satan knows if she/you got on your feet, that his lies have no affect on you anymore, that you'll be unstoppable!!

- When needs are not attended to, people become desperate.

- Are you living below your privilege?! Don't you know your value?!

- She knew OF God, what the Bible said... but was not affected to change.

- She had to stop being 'religious' and trust the man next to her!

- Sometimes we can be 'religiously poisoned'.

- When you are dissatisfied, you run through people. But people can never satisfy!

- Have you ever thought to ask God to fill up that empty space??

- Maybe you don't think he'll take all the hot mess of your life??

- Jobs, relationships, etc pacify... they don't satisfy!!

- HE ALONE SATISFIES!!

FILL ME UP LORD (finished with)

1

Like the woman at the well, I was seeking
For things that could not satisfy.
And then I heard my Savior speaking -
“Draw from My well that never shall run dry.”

  Fill my cup, Lord; I lift it up Lord;
Come and quench this thirsting of my soul.
Bread of Heaven, feed me till I want no more.
Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole.
2

There are millions in this world who are seeking
For pleasures earthly goods afford.
But none can match the wondrous treasure
That I find in Jesus Christ my Lord.
3

So my brother if the things that this world gives you
Leave hungers that won’t pass away,
My blessed Lord will come and save you
If you kneel to Him and humbly pray -

Be a blessing this week! When you're being a blessing, you are teaching others to be one too!

Cheers
Heather

Some notes from Sunday's service.
(Thanks, Heather)

First of all... Happy Mother's Day!! At the end of service, ALL ladies were given a rose, because we as women have great influence and have a mother's heart!

Here's a recap of service Sunday night:

Something to Think About

- 1905 Anna Jarvis, from Grafton, West Virginia, campaigned to make "Mother's Day" a recognized holiday. It was rejected til 1911, due to her great efforts, where all States observed the holiday.

- Because the holiday was becoming so commercialized, Anna threatened lawsuits against the commercialism; but to no avail.

- Anna was not the first to recognize women; ALL through the ages, there are events/celebrations honoring women.

- As Mother's took jobs and became a part of the working society, the 'role' of wives/mother's changed.

- The support, security, love, warmth changed... kids don't seem to need so much support.

- The greatest thing a mother can do is to plant the seed of faith. Yes it takes alot of seeding, alot of watering, alot of planting, lots of fertilizer... it is soooo important!

- When women plant seeds, only God knows what will come out of it!

- How important are our mothers (women)!

The Message ~ Jacquie Ross

- "Before I was a Mother Poem" (below)

- Mother's famous words... before you do something out of my sight, KNOW I'll find out!

- Isn't that like God!!!

- Little white lies... you only know how stained we become when we measure ourselves to God's standards.

- Every Mother's Heard is moving outside your comfort zone and being sacrificial.

- It is God who is love. 1 John 4:7+

- It's through our day-to-day experiences that bring us closer to Christ.

- Letting His love flow through us so to impact our world.
- Watch what God does... and do it!

- God didn't LOVE to 'get' something from us, but to give us everything!!

- Don't waste your time on worthless deeds.

- Like putting off little problems with a car, you could end up with a car not worth fixing/repairing.

- This is like life, when we neglect self-examination... except although Jesus will NEVER turn us away!

- $10, after being soiled, would you use it?? Once cleaned up, now would you use it?? Has it lost it's value or worth?

- Who should separate us from God? No one. Nothing. No muck. No wrong decisions.

- Do you need to repent for His sake? NO, you repent for you sake.

- His love is not human!!

Please watch the video attached below. It's a baby having a conversation with God. So touching!

I hope you honored your mom (or women who have influenced you) in some way on Mother's Day!!

Cheers
Heather

Service of Sunday May 3, 2015

A few notes from Sunday’s service.
(Thanks, Heather)

Hi all. Here's a summary of what you may have missed Sunday past.

Something to think about - Dr. Barclay

- What is TRUTH?

- There are 35,000 different protestant denominations all claiming they know the truth... so what then is the truth??

- People have changed their ideas/thoughts about 'truth' and they have been carried on.

- Bible says 'test everything'... What does the Bible say?!

- If not tested, then the changes are carried forward.

- John 3:16... '... that whoever believes in Him '______' not perish, but have eternal life.

        - 'should not' is used in 8 translations

        - 'shall not' is used in 2 translations

        - 'will not' is used 3 translations

        - 'might not' is used in 2 translations

- Should not... an expectant verb, no a guarantee.

- Will not...definitive verb, guarantee

- If eternal life was based on a belief, even the devil and his demons would go to heaven.

- Faith without deeds is dead!

- Faith without action will go nowhere!

- Therefore, if you believe, you 'should' go to heaven because knowing the Truth should change you.

The Word - Pastor Caroline

- Are you seeking religion?

- Do you watch Christian TV and don't get anything out of it?

- Do you think 'I've got nothing to be thankful for'?

- Well what's your problem?

- "Count your blessings" as the hymn says!

- If you get to the bottom of things, you'll find in the deepness is spiritual emptiness

- You may give much in the offering plate... but God wants you to give yourself to others.

- Don't seek religion... Seek relationship!

- God didn't make religion... He made relationship!

- Catholic, Pentecostal, Baptist, Salvation Army, Jehovah Witness, Protestant... each are represented in a different way

- And if scholars can't decide which is correct, how can I/we??

- BUT we can be confident it's JESUS!!

- John 10:36-38. John learned a lot from Jesus

- Jesus healed, walked on water, fed 5000... the Son of God DID things

- He was about His father's business.

- John 14:6

- Jesus knew his purpose... He was the one and only way to God.

- A religion can't take us to the father; it's through Jesus Christ!

- ONLY one way to God

- John 1:12... "Some, however, did receive him and believed in him; so he gave them the right to become God's children"

- John 3:17... "For God did not send his Son into the world to be its judge, but to be its savior."

- Open your Bible and get connected!!

- Don't be talked into a religion... let someone introduce you to Jesus!

- Believe in Him and build your relationship

- Others will see a change in you... that Jesus changed you.

- Accept Him as Lord of your life... AND let Him be the Lord over your life

- Religion... man made

- Relationship... God given!

Cheers and how about 'counting' your blessings this week... make a list, try it! It will change your perspective!!
