Notes from Sunday's service (Thanks, Heather)

🎼Child of the King (song) ... Lyrics: you'll be as if you've never been away
(And I thank Him for the miracle that brought me from the wrong to the right)
🎼He knows my name (song)
🎼Consider the Lily
Now to Him who is able to do, immeasurably more, that what we ask of imagine

Something to Think About
  • Dr. Barclay congratulated Mike on his first column in the Newspaper this week!!
  • James 5:12 (that you fall not under judgement)
  • Matt 5:33-37 (let your yes be yes, and no be no)
  • 1. One of the first characteristics of the first church was an honest church. No rituals, no masks.
  • People dealt with people with honesty.
  • (Cheerful, praise)
  • 2. It was a gathering, a community, a family.
  • (Any among you sick, suffering...?!)
  • 3. Praying church.
  • Prayer and praise are essentially the same in the bible. One goes along with the other.
  • 4. Faith-filled place.
  • Believing what God said He'd do, He'll do. They had faith in what the did, how they acted.
  • 5. In-spite of that, it was a humble church.
  • Old Testament said not to worship Bale... Which means the Devil. There are now 33,000 different Christian denominations; 10,000 different distinguished religions.
  • God wants a unified body, coming together, to worship Christ.

The Message ~ Pastor Caroline
  • 'The Open Door'
  • Have you ever used a key to open a door, but you couldn't open it?! (Ex: door frozen shut)
  • This is like our lives. We need to get on the inside.
  • Ephesians 3:20, 21
  • Sometimes we don't receive from God, because we do not actually 'receive' it, or we do not come openly.
  • Sometimes we lock ourselves away from God because of past mistakes, anger... BUT God is just waiting for you.
  • He is in control, He is strong, he is with you daily, he is able, he goes before you, he covers you with His guidance and protection, he can handle all your problems, he's willing to meet you where you are, RIGHT NOW. Trust Him!
  • There is nothing impossible with Him.
  • You are a child of God!
  • We need to learn to be content in God's hands.
  • We need to ask God for our needs!! Yes he knows your request before you make it, but he wants you to ask.
  • God listens to the cry of your heart.
  • And He gives you MORE than what you ask for/expect.
  • We are to witness to others that Christ listens and answers prayers.
  • Answered prayer comes in God's time.
  • Sometimes it's hard sitting on our blessed-assurance waiting on God.
  • It's important to intercede for others in prayer; maybe they're not in a place where they can pray for themselves.
  • He is constant. The only constant in your life. Did you know there there are times you can't even depend on ourself.
  • 🎤 Don't give up on the brink of a miracle.
  • Do you see an open door?? Be open to believe, be open to receive... Then give Glory to Christ.

Praise testimony to God was given:
  • Recovering from alcoholism
  • Quitting smoking
  • The belief in the power of prayer, through answered prayer.

Make sure to come out next week to hear the beginning and end of this testimony!

Happy Canada Day weekend!

Notes from Sunday's service (Thanks, Heather)

There was no 'Something To Think About' tonight
Today, 40 years ago Mike and Ardith proclaimed their love through marriage.
Mike surprised his wife with a 'Ardith will you marry me again?'  Pastor Caroline then proceeded to marry Mike and Ardith... Again :)

The Message ~ Pastor Dave MacLean
  • LOVE CHAPTER - Love suffers long (God will never give up on you), bears all things (there's nothing you can do that God will leave you)
  • Did you know the Jews never spoke of God as 'father'?! There were LOTS of names for God, but Father was only used in the Father's Prayer.
  • God has a wonderful plan for your life.
  • God has so many great things for us, and until we open up ourselves, we will not know what those things are. But we do KNOW, from reading the Word of God.
  • You'll always come out ahead when you follow these two rules... Trust and Obey :)
  • For us to live in victory, we need to trust and obey!
  • If we have a heavenly father that loves us as in His Word, why would worldly things bother us?!
  • Sometimes 'logic' just doesn't work... Like healing.
  • Proverbs 3:5, 6... Trust in the Lord with ALL of your heart, lean not on your own understanding...
  • This is not an easy thing.
  • Did you know you have a seed of greatness in you... A loving Heavenly Father.
  • Too often we let fear or logic lead the path.
  • Hebrews 11:1... Faith is the substance of things hoped for...
  • We have God on our side. If we trust and obey, we will win every time.
  • God loves you NOT only when you're obedient!! He loves you at every moment... HE IS LOVE!! He knows nothing but love.
  • Matthew 6:31-34... Do not worry about what you should eat, drink or wear...
  • Worry might come, but don't keep hold of it. Don't dwell on these things.
  • Seek after peace, seek after joy...
  • We need to walk by FAITH and not by sight.
  • It takes faith to activate trust.
  • What Christ is, is in us.
  • We don't have to prove anything to God. We don't need to pray more for God to love us, or to serve more for God to love us... He loves us where we are, in the state we are!!
  • Romans 12:19... You are His DEARLY BELOVED!!
  • Even when you do wrong, your sins are already forgiven, even years ago
  • The world is watching our reactions; we may be the only 'Jesus' people see.
  • When people say or do something hurtful, he/she is hurting in some aspect of their lives, so let's no retaliate, lets love and not add to their hurt.
  • John 3:16... Says nothing about 'works'. It just says believe!
  • You can't control the acts of others, but you CAN control your acts towards people.
  • Remember this: trouble and trials will come your way, no matter what you face, don't lose love and faith.
  • Trust and obey 'cause there's no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

Cheers

Here's some notes from Sunday's service (Thanks, Heather)

July 16 - Master's Hand Ministry will be hosting a family BBQ. More details to follow.

Please remember in prayer the  POWER TO CHANGE program.

Something to Think About
Psalm 35:9
Meek and Keep
Sometimes we are not prepared to receive the complications of answered prayer.
The Hebrews prayed for years to be delivered. When they were free, all they did was compare and complain... To make them meek, God made them wander in the wilderness for 40 years.
They were tired of eating the same thing, the Promised land was inhabited, etc
We all want to get to a promised land... A land of contentment, peace, satisfied. But all of us have Giants that we have to overcome.
'The Giants we have to overcome are fear, anger, temptation, procrastination, jealousy... Giants we all face from day to day.'
Are we going to overcome our Giants, or let our Giants to overcome us?!
With meekness we can overcome the Giants.

The Message ~
Power to Change... The Great Commission
Changing the world by bringing Students to Christ
Nader gave a report of where his ministry is growing! Mission trips, growth in numbers, etc
Acts 1:8
The Holy Spirit helps us do things differently.
He helps us be productive and fruitful.
Pray for Holy Spirit to break apathy amongst the students.
John 15:1-17
Fruit will naturally grow when connected to Christ. You can't just put an apple on a tree and call it fruit; it has to grow/be product of the tree.
Abide in Christ... Through prayer, reading His Word, and through encouraging and love each other.

Cheers

Sunday June 5, 2016

Some notes from Sunday's service.  (Thanks, Jean)

Sunday night was a time of encouragement and renewing of the Spirit Man in each one of us; for many people, who had been going through a time of spiritual warfare and attack. The songs that were sung and the message given was an invaluable time of uplifting and building up of our faith.

*Remember there is power in Jesus name.*

2 Corinthians 4:16 16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
Ephesians 3:16 16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

Pastor Caroline Barclay-Theme:
We need to follow Christ and stay true to his word and he will never leave us.

Psalm 25:4 Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.

From birth to death God is part of our lives. He directs our path and we are to seek his guidance. He will never lead us in the wrong direction. Because he loves us he wants us to stay under his guiding hand.

The world would have us believe we are insignificant. God is the one person who changed everything over 2000 years ago, through his son Jesus. The Holy Spirit will guide us when we give conscious and unconscious thought to him through prayer. We meed to remember everyday prayer is the only weapon we have against the world. God will lift us up when we fall down and give us rest when we are tired.
