Pastor Caroline - April 4, 2020
I will start today by writing the last paragraph from David Jeremiah’s book, Daily in His Presence.
Change the way you’re looking at your problems, your priorities, your schedule, your world. Look at life from God’s perspective and set your hope on the grace of Christ’s return.
This certainly sums up our lives right now. It seems the problems we had say, five weeks ago, seem to be on the back burner as we face each day and the news of COVID-19. Our priorities in all households have changed as we all think about our families and friends and pray no one gets sick. Our schedules have been disrupted as we stay in, to stay safe. Things we normally did and took for granted have changed as each one of us help in our small way, to change the curve of COVID-19 In Nova Scotia. Our whole world looks different to us right now, and for the foreseeable future it certainly will be a different spring and summer from the one of 2019.
However, if we look at life from God’s perspective and set our hope on the grace of Christ‘s return; we can live in hope, comfort, peace and encouragement. At these times, we need to share our faith with everyone, believers (so we can stay encouraged) and nonbelievers (so we can bring to them hope, comfort and peace) to remind ourselves that as Christians we are not exempt from the happenings in this world, but we have a hope and a promise that whatever happens in this world, God, our Heavenly Father, watches over us and one day we will be with Him if we except Him as Lord and Saviour of our lives.
As we draw closer to Easter, we remember Jesus, and His commitment to carry our sins to the cross, to give up His life for us, to return to heaven through the resurrection and ascension to the Father and His promise to send the comforter, the Holy Spirit. All of which was done 2000 years ago.
Read Matthew Chapter 27 verses 27-66 and Matthew Chapter 28 verses 1-20 to refresh your memory.
Because “He lives” we “can face tomorrow” and we can face each new day looking at life from God’s perspective and setting our hope on the grace of Christ‘s return.
Today I pray for your well-being (good health), protection (from the enemy), provision from the Father (for all your needs to be met), contentment (knowing you are a child of God) and peace (that goes beyond your understanding). Look up and see what God sees. The people who believe in eternal life waiting for the return of Jesus. Set your eyes on the Father. He sees you and He loves you. Easter is a reminder of how much He loves you!!
