Dr. Barclay
Something to Think About
Theme: “It is Finished”
 John 19:30
So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!”And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
It is finished” are the last words Jesus spoke from the cross.
What exactly did Christ mean when he spoke “It is finished”
During the Exodus the children of Israel, had to apply Lambs blood to the door post and then the angel of death would pass over their home. When Christ said “It is finished”the redemption of sin between God and man was covered. Just like the lambs blood covered the door post of the Hebrew’s home and the lives of their first born were spared. Christ blood covers our sin and ours souls are spared from hell.
By Christ shedding his own blood on the cross, no more blood has to be shed forevermore.
Hebrews 9:22
And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.
It is finished” Christ death has paid the final price, no more animal sacrifice is needed for sin.
It is finished”, our sins are forgiven when we accept Christ, all we have to do is come under the blood. God’s way is safe, secure and defined, all we have to do is follow it wholeheartedly.

Tracey Burke
We heard the testimony of Tracey Burke, how the Lord healed her from cancer and what seemed to have been lost was fully restored. Tracey had terminal cancer could no longer work at the job she loved very much due to illness and had to train her replacement. Tracey’s testimony was a wonderful encouragement to everyone, not to give up. Tracey’s health was restored, the Lord healed her cancer. With her health regained she was able to go back to the job she enjoyed and continue earning a living. Just like Job in the bible Tracey’s health and livelihood were restored. Tracey prayed and remained faithful to the Lord and the Lord remained faithful to her. A beautiful part of Tracey’s testimony was how her husband Andrew prayed for her, encouraged and supported her.

Dr. Barclay – Something to Think About
Do You Really Believe In The Resurrection?

Many times our pride does not want us to accept reality.
Mark 16:1-8
The women went to the tomb and when they saw the stone rolled away and Jesus body was not there, they were afraid, however an angel spoke and assured them.
5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed.
6 But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. 7 But go, tell His disciples—and Peter—that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.”
8 So they went out quickly and fled from the tomb, for they trembled and were amazed. And they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.
When we think about the resurrection, we must wonder, why were the women and disciples afraid? Why are we often afraid in life?
Luke 24:13-35
The disciples met Jesus on the road to the village of Emmaus, but they did not realize the man they were talking to was Jesus. The disciples thought the man was a stranger, and they told him of how Jesus of Nazareth had been condemned to death and crucified, they talked of how they thought he was going to redeem Israel and they went to his tomb and did not find him.
Jesus spoke to the disciples v.17 “What kind of conversation is this that you have with one another as you walk and are sad?”
25 Then He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?”27 And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.
The disciples eyes were opened and they realized it truly was Jesus their Lord who had spoken to them.
The disciples went with Jesus for three years, they heard him talk of dying, but they did not really accept it till after it happened. Once the disciples finally accepted and believed in the resurrection they became lions of courage throughout the Roman Empire. If we have accepted the resurrection and we are not afraid of life today, if we live each day by faith, focused on Christ then we will not be afraid of what comes next.

Pastor Caroline Barclay –
God’s Rewards Are Always Worth Their Cost

Luke 6:22-23
Blessed are you when men hate you,
And when they exclude you,
And revile
you, and cast out your name as evil,
For the Son of Man’s sake.
23 Rejoice in that day and leap for joy!
For indeed your reward
is great in heaven,
For in like manner their fathers did to the prophets.
James 1:2-4
My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

The hard knocks of life, develop who we are and give us character. God is faithful and just and in control of all things. Life is not a flat line, it will always have ups and downs, mountain tops and valleys. When we are feeling down and going through a tough time of disappointment and loneliness. We need not fret, God is waiting on the other side, he has the light and joy always comes in the morning.
Our measure of faith, does not determine God’s answer to our prayer. Even when we feel like giving up and our faith is low, God still comes through.
Even when we have failed, God is still faithful
2 Timothy 2:13
If we are faithless,
He remains faithful;
He cannot deny Himself.
