Pastor Caroline - May 8,2020

Sometimes our souls are weary with sorrow. Lately here in Nova Scotia, we certainly are heavy with burdens. With everything that’s been happening we are determined to stay strong.
Then the news tells us of a little boy gone missing.
Heart wrenching.
Three-year-old Dylan is missing and tears fill our eyes and a lump lodges in our throat. Our hearts are struggling once again. We pray:
“Lord help all those who are searching for Dylan, keep them safe, and be with Dylan’s family, in the name of your Son, Jesus”.
We pray God will hear the cry of our heart and we know He
will.

I pray today God’s word will protect all those searching for Dylan and that His word will strengthen the family and friends who are anxiously awaiting any word, trying to be strong in this moment.
Psalm 119 verse 28, from the Good News Bible reads:
(28) I am overcome by sorrow; strengthen me, as you have promised.

God does promise to be our strength, when the circumstances in life take our breath away. He promises to be our strength, when pain fills our heart and we think it will never leave. In these times I pray the word of God is tucked away in your heart and mind so you can draw strength from the power of God’s word in your life.

God will bring comfort and strength through His word. There are times when people try very hard to bring us comfort, and through no fault of their own, we just cannot seem to be comforted. Yet God‘s word lifts us up and gives us a peace, a comfort, and a new strength that we cannot even explain or understand. His word will renew us and bring us the strength we need.

Isaiah Chapter 41 verse 10, again from the Good News Bible reads:
(41) “Do not be afraid - I am with you! I am your God - let nothing terrify you!
I will make you strong and help you;
I will protect you and save you”.

We need to stand on His word today. I would like to ask everyone who reads this message today to raise a prayer to cover the sorrow many have experienced here in Nova Scotia in these past weeks. And please lift Dylan’s family before the Lord, asking Him, to be with them in this time of great need. We can be an army of prayer warriors, lifting up those who at this time, do not have the strength within them to pray.
In God‘s word, Psalm 119 verse 105 from the Good News Bible reminds us:
(105) Your word is a lamp to guide me and a light for my path.

We know God will make a way and He will answer the prayers raised today by us, on your behalf. He speaks through His word and He brings comfort and peace that will sustain each one.

May we all feel His presence and know His power as He strengthens each one of us on a daily basis. We thank you Lord for hearing our prayers today and we give all glory to you.

Hear His word to you today,
He will strengthen you!
God loves you. ❤
