Pastor Caroline - May 14, 2020

When we take time to help someone in need, or feed hungry, visit the lonely, pray for the sick and sit with a someone who is dying, we serve the Lord. We are His hands, feet, arms, and mouth when we do His work here on earth. When we carry out His work we need to do it with a heart full of good intention. We must not let anything distract us, turn off the phone, walk away from the TV, shut down the computer, close the book and really concentrate on the task at hand. Give what you are doing your full service. When you do, you will do a good job and both you and God will be pleased.

As David says in our reading in Daily in His Presence, let nothing distract us from a driving faith in Christ. I like that statement David uses.
Let each one of us keep our focus on Christ, and do not let the worries, cares and fears of this world rob us of what God has intended for us. His word is rich in our lives when we concentrate fully on it and obey His instructions; then we benefit from His good daily plan and full purpose for us.

David’s last paragraph is a wonderful instruction to us and worth paying attention to. Here it is again for your reading. “When we live according to God‘s plan, nothing can distract us. Every day provides a fresh opportunity to rededicate ourselves to the Lord and live with single minded devotion to him”.
Well said, David and may this be a wonderful reminder to us as to Who we serve. We serve a God who does not get distracted from caring for us, so let’s not be distracted in serving Him.

Now let’s enjoy this sunny day as we serve to the very best of our ability and with great pleasure knowing all glory goes to our Heavenly Father.
