Pastor Caroline - May 12, 2020 - Prayer, Promise and Power

The Lord is in His Holy Temple!

We stand on every promise He gives us.

As I raise a friend today to the Father I know He will provide all that is needed to care for her. When I search the Scriptures I can clearly see God’s promises for those who are solid in their faith. The peace of God will carry her as she trusts in her Lord. And she does!!. She has had to endure sickness in her body most of her life and yet, her faith never waivers. She lives in Christ and Christ lives in her. Romans Chapter 5 verses 1, 3, 4 and 5, from the Good News Bible, speaks to me of her faith.
(1)  Now that we have been put right with God through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
(3) We also boast of our troubles, because we know that trouble produces endurance,
(4) endurance brings God‘s approval, and His approval creates hope.
(5) This hope does not disappoint us, for God has poured out His love into our hearts by the means of the Holy Spirit, who is God’s gift to us.

These verses so apply to my friend and just one year ago she testified to the goodness of God in her life as she struggled with an illness and He raised her up. Praise God, her hope has been, and still is, in Christ Jesus, Who is her healer. He healed her in the past and will heal her now in this very present time off need. Her character has over the years; and to this day; speak of her trust in her Lord, her confidence of who she is as a King’s kid, and the love that fills her heart for her Savior.
No one likes to suffer, and we do not want to see anyone suffer. The hope that is built up in us as we suffer, is what carries us through, and allows us to “rest assured” that God is in control and carries us in the palm of His hand.

So how, do I relate Romans Chapter 5 verses 1, 3, 4 and 5 to my friend?
Well she has been put right with God (she accepted Him as Lord and Saviour a long time ago) and from struggle to struggle, she moves forward from faith to faith, (answered prayer).  She will tell you off her struggle only so she can lift the name of Jesus and tell you how He has carried her through. She praises His name and openly shares her testimony so people know Jesus is her healer. She gives Him all the glory! She has gained much endurance, through her suffering, and has strengthened her character through her hope in Jesus. The Holy Spirit is with her everyday and she realizes the power He gives her to carry-on, to be strong, to not give up or give in, but, to push through and testify, testify to the goodness of her Lord and Saviour, who is in His Holy Temple and sees her need.

Today I ask all who are reading this to raise a prayer for my friend, and if everyone of you will do this, we know God will hear the cry of our heart for her and once again she’ll be raised to the fulness of health, ready to testify, yet again, of His power. I have not said her name, however, Jesus knows and He will know you are praying on her behalf.

We will all give thanks and praise as we see the Almighty prove His word and advance His Kingdom here on earth.
For no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly, as we are told in Psalm 84:11.

Let us now see as prayer, promise and power bring about a praise report worthy of our Lord. Have a very blessed day in Jesus, our King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
