I would like to start today with scripture. I am reading
from the Amplified Study Bible in the book of Habakkuk Chapter 2 Verse 3
(3) For the vision is
yet for the appointed (future) time
It hurries towards the goal (of fulfilment); it will not
fail
Even though it delays, wait (patiently) for it
Because it will
certainly come; it will not delay.
This past week we had to make a tough decision to keep our
church family separate until September. However if circumstances change
certainly we will assess our getting together, all of us, and be ready to
resume services as we have in the past. Most of our people are missing the
hugs, the handshakes, sharing a meal at a table as we usually all get together
at Tim and Wendy’s after service, and of course, the singing. Congregational
and worship team singing is truly missed. It is just as difficult to practice
with seven singers in a living room and stay 2 meters apart as it is to worship
in service 2 metres apart. As we are gifted to share a building for our services,
we certainly want to abide by all the rules and guidelines. As I spoke with
other ministers and pastors locally and from a distance they are off the same
thought as to protecting their congregation and so we wait. God is doing a
mighty work in many lives drawing people to His heart as they seek Him in these
times. Having YouTube, Facebook and our website we have been blessed to be able
to stay connected and share the word of the Lord; as have many churches over
the past few months. The word of the Lord will always be available and many
hearts will receive as people now have time to listen to messages presented in
many ways. When we can all gather again, I feel very certain, we will be welcoming new people to our congregations
in all churches. A new increase for
which we will give God all the glory.
As we wait patiently we know God will bring us into a new
time, a time of greater appreciation of our faith, family and friends. A time
to appreciate the gathering together in service on Sunday and the Bible studies
as we learn together.
For the vision is yet for the appointed (future) time is
what we read in Scripture, and so we wait patiently to see what the plan of the
Lord is for our future as we serve He who is mighty and awesome.
This is my last daily writing, starting next week I will
present a writing on Wednesday of each week and the video on Sunday. Please
stay tuned as we move through July and August knowing God has much for us.
Spencer will continue with the Bible study presentation and Something to Think
About, and always Peter’s Pics are a delight and fill our hearts with wise and
good words from our Heavenly Father. So please stay with us over the summer
knowing God loves you and He wants you to enjoy His splendour and majesty as we
praise the name of the Lord.
