Happy Tuesday!!
:) Hope the last few weeks of 2015 have already been filled with promise!! :)
Here's
some notes on Sunday's service.
Recap
from Spencer's 'Something to think about':
-
In the Bible it talks about sins being past from generation to generation. (you
can even think of abuse as an example)
-
Like religion, if you are Roman Catholic you're parents are probably RC, and
probably your kids are too.
-
The Bible tells us to 'test' everything!
-
Never in the Bible is there Valentine's Day, to celebrate Jesus birth OR to
celebrate his death. These are all man-made holidays.
-
... Yet we don't celebrate the festivals that are indeed Biblical
-
There are some things to learn about, and certainly some things to think about!
:)
Pastor
Todd brought the Word tonight:
-
Are you willing to pay it forward? Giving it all... helping the poor, that they
can achieve what you have?
-
Psalm 23: talks about peace; God gives you riches in abundance... rich and
overflowing!
-
... Flowing from you to others, from others back to you (and others)
-
Even to your enemies. because who is an enemy to you, isn't an enemy of God
-
Matthew 5:43
-
Wealth God gives and places on you will last forever@
-
Compassion, love, paying the message of God forward.
-
Go out of your way to pour into someone you dislike.
-
Matthew 5. Blessed is the merciful; blessed is the peacemaker...thirst for
righteousness and they shall be filled.
-
Romans 3:10. No one is righteous. So what are they filled with? ...
Righteousness through Christ.
-
The evidence of this is the nail scars in his hands, the nail scars in his
feet, the piercing in his side.
-
'Wealth' is not monetary! Don't dwell on what you don't have; Focus on what God
has given you!
-
The ROD and STAFF in Psalm 23, one keeps the sheep heading in the right
direction (moving forward), and the other corrects them.
-
Would the Shepard lead you astray?
-
(thou anointest my head with oil). The shepherds put oil on the sheep's head to
keep away ticks.
-
Look for the wealth in your life
-
What has God blessed you with?
-
Are you using it?
-
How can I show the love of Christ to others? ... you need an overflow of His
love and compassion.
Pastor
Caroline added a quote from Mother Teresa 'It's not how much we give, but how
much love you put into giving.'
Night!
