Dr. Barclay – Something to Think About
The Promises of God

Promises are Covenants. Promises God made with us.
There are warnings that come with the promises of God. God is faithful at keeping his covenants with us, but are we faithful at keeping them with him.
Exodus 24:3
So Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord and all the judgments. And all the people answered with one voice and said, “All the words which the Lord has said we will do.”
Christ has promised us eternity with him, yet it is up to us to be faithful and keep our promise to God, live for him and not stray from God’s word so we may spend eternity with him.
John 14:2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
The bible says let our yes be yes and no be no.
Matthew 5:37
James 5:12
We need to be clear and certain when we make promises to each other that we do our utmost, humanely possible to remain true to our word. Today people often break their promises and fall back on their word with each other and also break their promises they made with God. When we are not faithful to each other and easily break our promises it hurts our Christian witness. The best way we can live out the Christian life is to remain faithful to each other and ultimately to Father God.

Rev. Roxann Spicer –Worship and Warfare, the two used as one.

Psalm 91:1-2
Ephesians 6:12
2 Corinthians 10:3-6
Worship enthrones God and focuses on God
Acts 16:25-28

Paul and Silas did not say, woe is me and feel and bad for themselves. They focused on Christ, worshiped and praised him. What a glorious witness for the other prisoners and the jailer. In a cold dark prison, Paul and Silas chained to the wall with praise and worship, singing hymns, the spirit of God invaded that area in a wondrous way. When we worship we are elevated above our circumstances situation and events. Our perspective is shifted from the problem to the problem solver.
We need to ask ourselves, can we be like Paul and Silas, can we raise a Hallelujah in both the good times and bad?
To be successful in the Christian life this is exactly what we must do. God is faithful, he knows and sees our circumstances and he will not fail us.
When it is time for spiritual warfare, we must go to war and fully fight the enemy, who is Satan.
