Pastor Caroline - August 5, 2020

May I suggest you read David Jeremiah’s reading from Daily In His Presence, first, before you read my message here. My message will then make more sense.

Well,  what can I add to David’s message today? Not much, only to say, history repeats itself. Today the numbers of people who have lost their lives in Canada and the USA and other countries off the world by COVID-19 are too numerous to say the least. Those infected as well are great in number and until COVID-19 is stayed by the hand of the Lord many more will succumb.

COVID-19 cannot be wished away, or hoped away, however, prayer, earnest prayer, can bring it under the control of God’s mighty hand and then it can be abated.

History tells us, many diseases over the past generations have come and gone, taking many lives and bringing many people to their knees in prayer. Spencer and I, a number of years ago, went to Germany to see a play called,  The Passion  Play; put on every 10 years as a promise to God back in 1634 by the people of Oberammergau to thank Him for clearing the plague and saving the lives of many. Only twice has it been cancelled, once during the second world war and now again due to COVID-19. It is expected to be presented in May 2022 in Oberammergau Germany just in case anyone reading this would be interested in going. It certainly is worth seeing as the life of Jesus is brought before your eyes as they tell His life story from Jerusalem to His death on the cross. It is six hours long and one becomes so involved in the presentation that time is not an issue. You will be greatly touched and forever changed as you see His life brought before you in such detail.

History does repeat itself and we can see in the Bible how God hears the earnest cries of His people and delivers His people. As we humble ourselves before Him,  and acknowledge Him as sovereign Lord, then His hand of protection and provision will be with us. He is our strength, our comfort and peace, our all in all.

Everyone reading this today, please take some time on your knees, and pray to God to bring us completely and wholeheartedly under His will. Pray all people  will bend their knee and confess Him as Lord and Savior. As we commit our lives to Him, staying true to our word, maybe then we will see the end of COVID-19 as once again He grants us the mercy and grace to continue on until His return; as in His plan.

Enjoy your day today and remember to always pray. God loves when we are in conversation with Him bringing praise and glory to Him.
