Dr. Barclay - Something to Think About

“Something better has come”.

1John 4:3
and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.
Hebrews 13 20:21
20 Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Christ is the best choice anyone can make. The world offers many choices and various floating ideas. Father God has given us something better through his son Jesus. Jesus Christ is the only truth, peace and way to eternal life. Christ is not demanding like the pagan cults, that require sacrifices and burdensome rules and laws. Christians have something better than all false religions and ideologies. Pagans bring destruction, heartache upon themselves by rejecting Christ. Thus all the more responsibility for the Christian to spread the soul saving good news about Christ.

Peter Mac Laren - “Fear, Faith, Worship”

Number one tool of the enemy to come against the Christian is fear. Fear is a thief that robs people of their freedom. Fear causes us to be stagnant and unable to move. That’s why God says “fear not”.
Luke 2:10-11
10 The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. See! I bring you good news of great joy which is for all people. 11 Today, One Who saves from the punishment of sin has been born in the city of David. He is Christ the Lord.
Faith is the greatest tool against fear.
2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind
When we have faith our confidence is in God alone, not ourselves.
Romans 8:15
15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
When we have faith in God we will honor and respect him, like we would an earthly father. Faith is like stepping stones we take one step at a time. Faith is a seed planted in the promises of God. Satan does not want us to worship God. We need to give God our heart mind soul and strength.
Mark 12:30-31
30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’This is the first commandment. 31 And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’There is no other commandment greater than these.”
When we truly worship and focus on God we will be better able to love others. We cannot depend on our feelings to worship God. Our emotions and feelings change from moment to moment and day to day. God is constant and faithful he does not change. Clarity comes into our life when we sincerely worship God. We need to return faithfulness to God and not waiver, but to hold firm to God’s truth.

Worship was led by John and Roxann Spicer
