Sunday July 19, 2015

A few notes from Sunday’s service. (Thanks, Bill)

John and Roxann Spicer blessed us with their music, keeping with their theme of the evening; The Cross.

The service opened with prayer and a welcome song.

Peter MacLaren gave the financial report. We are truly blessed to
be able to share so much.

Something to Think About – Dr. Spencer Barclay

Why do we study the Old Testament

Everything in the New Testament is in the Old Testament

God chose David

As wise as Solomon was even he did not walk with God all the
time

When Solomon died his kingdom was divided

It is important to learn from the past

There is no new thing under the sun

Just because we are in the place we are doesn't mean it's going to
stay that way

Every great civilization seems to have fallen as they turned away
from God.

Sermon - Roxann Spicer

After opening in prayer, Roxann spoke from the Book of
Colossians, Peter's letter to  the Church in Colossae, which was
written while he was in jail.

The word of God should be read happily with joy.

Not enough of today's churches speak on the Bible.

God loves you and is concerned about you
.
Talk to God to build your spiritual strength
.
Just Sunday' s are not enough. Talk to God all week.

Pray while you're waiting. While you are doing just about anything,

Anywhere. Any time.

Use common sense.

Sing. Sing your hearts out.

So much we can learn by just reading.

The service closed in prayer and praise music.
