Message From Our Pastor

Well here it is another new year.  2017, what will this year bring?  For that my dear friends I do not have an answer, however I do know "God is in control". I do know "we are blessed beyond measure". We are His beloved, and for that I am very thankful.

Master's Hand Ministry is His ministry carried out by many hands. Each person gives of their time, talent and treasure, and I am grateful to each and everyone. Without each one we could not do what we do. And without people to minister to we would not have a work to do. So this ministry needs everyone!  Thank you to each and everyone of you who make this ministry possible. Let each of us pray that we will be effective in the work of the Lord as we wait upon Him for instruction and direction into 2017.

We invite you to join us, especially if you are looking for a church home or would like to come for a visit. We gather at "The Chapel" at H. W. Angus Funeral Home on King Street ( just off East River Road) in New Glasgow every Sunday evening at 6p.m., weather permitting. If for any reason we cancel a service you will find the info on the web site or on Facebook.
We wish to thank the gentlemen of H.W. Angus Funeral home for their kindness and generosity allowing us to gather each Sunday night in the chapel.  We are now in our fifth year and we wish to express our gratitude to each one of them.  They have allowed us a great opportunity to minister in our community.

As you go forward into a new year let this year be the year you accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. He will change your life and how you live each day.
We have just celebrated the season of His birth and go forward to the season of His death and resurrection. He came as a gift to us and continues to be the greatest gift ever given to mankind. The gift is yours to receive and it is to be shared with everyone you meet.

Let me leave you with a word from the Lord.  Isaiah 41:10 reads:

Do not be afraid- I am with you!
I am your God- let nothing terrify you!
I will make you strong and help you;
I will protect you and save you.

What a powerful word and promise to hold onto into 2017. Memorize these words and hide them in your heart and as life brings each day, with each new challenge, you will be prepared to enter the day and see it through.
So read it often, claim it always and give thanks to God who supplies your everyday.

Blessings to all who read this and remember, you receive blessings so that you can be a blessing to others.

Happy New Year and may 2017 be your best year ever in His presence!

 In His service,
Pastor Caroline

There will be no Bible Study this evening. (January 4, 2017)

There was no school today, so the school is closed.
See you next week.

A reminder that there is no service this evening.
We will resume services next week, January 8, 2017

Until then, here's something I found in my e-mail:

Every time I am asked to pray, I think of the old fellow who always prayed, 'Lord, prop us up on our leanin' side.'  After hearing him pray that prayer many times, someone asked him why he prayed that prayer so fervently.

He answered, 'Well sir, you see, it's like this...I got an old barn out back.  It's been there a long time; it's withstood a lot of weather; it's gone through a lot of storms, and it's stood for many years.

It's still standing.  But one day I noticed it was leanin' to one side a bit.

So I went and got some pine poles and propped it up on its leanin' side so it wouldn't fall.

Then I got to thinking about that and how much I was like that old barn.  I've been around a long time...

I've withstood a lot of life's storms.  I've withstood a lot of bad weather in life,  I've withstood a lot of hard times, and I'm still standing too.  But I find myself leanin' to one side from time to time...so I like to ask the Lord to prop us up on our leanin' side, 'cause I figure a lot of us get to leanin' at times'.

Sometimes we get to leanin' toward anger, leanin' toward bitterness, leanin' toward hatred, leanin' toward cussing, leanin' toward a lot of things that we shouldn't.  So we need to pray, 'Lord, prop us up on our leanin' side, so we will stand straight and tall again, to glorify the Lord.'

Sunday December 11, 2016

Here's the notes from Sunday's service. (Thanks, Jean)

Dr. Barclay: The Bible Is The Greatest Parenting Book.

Marketing is very powerful. Children have learned and seen Disney characters since they were infants, all because of a mouse almost one hundred years ago.
Proverbs 22:5-6
Thorns and snares are in the way of the perverse;
He who guards his soul will be far from them.
6 Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.
Many times today children are not trained in the way they should go. Parents have let the marketers and Disney characters do the training. However the Bible speaks very clearly about parental responsibility and how it cannot be neglected at all costs.
Deuteronomy 6:6-7
6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
Rise up a child in they way they should go, then in spite of all the magic and all the TV., they will not depart from it.

Pastor Caroline: From The Manger To The Cross

Sadly today many people are wrapped up in the heaviness of Christmas and they are not looking to Jesus as they should. Without Jesus at Christmas we would not have the cross. Joseph did not father Jesus in the physical but fathered him in faith. At Christmas we receive the gift of love and life. At Easter we receive the gift of forgiveness and eternal salvation. Remember the spirit of Christmas is joy and peace and the reason is Jesus.

Sunday December 4. 2016

Notes from Sunday evening (Thanks, Jean)

Roxann Spicer -Theme: A tree is known by it’s fruit.

God has revealed who Jesus is.
Hebrews 1:1-4

Who we as Christians are----we are in God’s likeness.
Genesis 1:26-27

What we say reveals, what we believe.
Matthew 12:33-35

What we believe is what we repeat.
James 3:10-12

What we repeat is what we will receive.
Proverbs 18:20-21

Matthew 17:18-20
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

Christ promises that we are never alone. He will always be with us even until the end of the age, he gives us the power to go forth and make disciples in his name. And Praise God, for that, what encouragement the Christian has.

We cannot let fear of the unknown and unbelief, rob us of God’s peace. God wants us to be at peace, when we have the inner peace, that only God can give we will be a greater and more effective witness to others. We need to remember to pray for ourselves. It is never a selfish thing to pray for ourselves. We should never speak doubt over our circumstances. We need to speak faith and trust in God over our circumstances. We cannot live according to what our circumstances look like. We have to live according to what God says. We need to speak his word over our lives. God is in control regardless of what happens, our lives need to to be a testament that we are truly trusting in God’s faithfulness.
