John 19:30
So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!”And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
“It is finished” are the last words Jesus spoke from the cross.
What exactly did Christ mean when he spoke “It is finished”
During the Exodus the children of Israel, had to apply Lambs blood to the door post and then the angel of death would pass over their home. When Christ said “It is finished”the redemption of sin between God and man was covered. Just like the lambs blood covered the door post of the Hebrew’s home and the lives of their first born were spared. Christ blood covers our sin and ours souls are spared from hell.
By Christ shedding his own blood on the cross, no more blood has to be shed forevermore.
Hebrews 9:22
And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.
“It is finished” Christ death has paid the final price, no more animal sacrifice is needed for sin.
“It is finished”, our sins are forgiven when we accept Christ, all we have to do is come under the blood. God’s way is safe, secure and defined, all we have to do is follow it wholeheartedly.
Tracey Burke
We heard the testimony of Tracey Burke, how the Lord healed her from cancer and what seemed to have been lost was fully restored. Tracey had terminal cancer could no longer work at the job she loved very much due to illness and had to train her replacement. Tracey’s testimony was a wonderful encouragement to everyone, not to give up. Tracey’s health was restored, the Lord healed her cancer. With her health regained she was able to go back to the job she enjoyed and continue earning a living. Just like Job in the bible Tracey’s health and livelihood were restored. Tracey prayed and remained faithful to the Lord and the Lord remained faithful to her. A beautiful part of Tracey’s testimony was how her husband Andrew prayed for her, encouraged and supported her.
