Rev. Roxann Spicer: Worship and Warfare

Worship puts the enemy under our feet and produces joy in us. We need to
know and be aware of who our enemy is and he is Satan. Through the active
part of worship we eliminate the things that hold us down and focus solely on
God. When it is time for spiritual warfare, we need to go directly to war and
not hesitate-pray like never before.
When we feel like change is impossible, that is when we need to to pray and
worship the most.
Always worship God even when you don’t feel like it.
A great aspect of worship is praise and Mary has shown us a wonderful
example of heartfelt praise and thanksgiving and reverence to God.
Luke 1:46-51
My soul magnifies the Lord,
47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.
48 For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant;
For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed.
49 For He who is mighty has done great things for me,
And holy is His name.
50 And His mercy is on those who fear Him
From generation to generation.
51 He has shown strength with His arm;

David has also shown us an example of praise and worship and declaring the
goodness of God.
Psalm 103:1-4
Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
3 Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
4 Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies
Praise is the response to God’s revelation of himself. Praise causes the
presence of God to come into our midst. Through praise our faith and trust is
increased.

Each day we must examine and ask ourselves. Are we a spectator or a
participant, when it comes to praise and worship?
