Some notes fro Sunday's service (Thanks, Jean).

Dr. Spencer Barclay-Something to Think About
Theme: Fear
Worry is type of fear. Many times people try to subdue worry, fear, anxiety and stress through drugs, alcohol and wrongful relationships. Various times throughout the bible God tells us not to fear or worry.
Matthew 6:28-34
“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
The bible tells us to fear nothing, but only fear the Lord. There is a difference between concern and excessive worry. The bible tells us to trust God and be at peace and fear only the Lord not man. When our mind is consumed with worry and fear, it can cause negative effects on our physical body. God wants us to excel in life and live in full health, mentally and physically.
1 Peter 5:7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Pastor Caroline – Theme: Charity

Little is much when God is in it. People see Jesus in us when we give of our time and treasure. No job is too big or too small when we are working for the Lord. Even out of our little we can do something for some on who has less. Whatever we do for others in Jesus name, we can rest assure that God is well pleased.
Mark 12:30-31
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’This is the first commandment. 31 And the second, like it, is this:‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
1: Peter 1:25 But the word of the Lord endures forever.”
Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.

A few people can do something small and trust God he will multiply it into something big. Jesus wants us to feed, clothe, shelter and hug others, in other words we are to be Jesus to others. When we fill the need and give an answer to an opportunity, we are giving full glory to God.
Acts 20:35
I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’
