Some notes from Sunday's service.  (Thanks, Jean)

Dr. Spencer Barclay-Something to Think About
Theme: Just like God breathed life into man, he breathed inspiration into the bible for our life instructions and direction.

Timothy 3:16-17
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
God breathed-inspired the word of God. The holy scriptures the bible.
Genesis 2:7
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
God breathed into man his soul and spirit and he became a living being. God’s spirit breathed life into the bible, just as God’s spirit breathed life into man.
Throughout history man has put his own interpretation on scripture, often applying his own purpose and intent. Which many times did not come out as what God intended or inspired.
The bible has God’s completeness and is universally used in every corner of the world. The bible is prophetical and always proves to be true.
 We have to read the bible with an open and willing spirit. The holy scriptures are God inspired and need to be handled with holy reverence and obedience.

Pastor Caroline – Theme: VIP=Very Important Person

Matthew 18:12-14
12 “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying? 13 And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray. 14 Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.

In the kingdom of God we are very important people. Only Christ could redeem us, he laid down his life for his children. Jesus was and is the most important person who ever lived and lives. And we are called to spread his most important message. Christ changed us from enemies to his friends. Christ shared our sin so we might share the righteousness of God. We must have a new passion for Christ everyday and look forward to spending eternity with him. Jesus is always faithful, twenty four hours a day seven days a week. We should never feel down and despair, as we are very important people to Christ. Christian’s are not different because we are better than others. We are different because the Holy Spirit lives within us. Just like the parable of the ninety and nine Christ rejoices when each one of us come home to serving and living for him.

Here's the notes from Sunday's service.  (Thanks, Jean)

Dr. Barclay: - Something to Think About

Serving And Working Together Will Bring Success.
 Mark 3:25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
The church must be in unity, everyone is part of the body of Christ. Each member may be doing their own particular job, but all working for the kingdom of God. With no strife and struggle against each other.
1 Corinthians 12: 20 But now indeed there are many members, yet one body.
Physical dementia is when our physical body is not under the control of the brain. Spiritual dementia is when our bodies are not under the control of God. We lose connectivity with God.
We must all stay connected with each other and connected and with our Heavenly Father. This world is full of spiritual darkness and lies from the Devil, we can combat this most effectively when we serve and labor together, our hearts united focused on the Lord.

Roxann Spicer:
- How To Bless Others-Tell Them About Christ
 Matthew 10:12-14 And when you go into a household, greet it. 13 If the household is worthy, let your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. 14 And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.
 If people do not want to hear about Jesus after you have told them. Then don’t worry about it, know you have done your part, go your way in peace and move on. If we spoke the gospel to someone and they refused our message, we need not ever feel that we have failed. When we have presented the gospel, everyone is responsible for their own choice afterwards. We cannot let fear stop us from telling others about Jesus. If others laugh or ridicule us we cannot let it hinder us, we must continue forward telling others about Christ. God works through people to distribute his blessings and there is no limit to what God can give. We are to go through life blessing others and telling them about Christ. We need not be discouraged if their response is not what we hoped for, we must continue on serving the Lord with our eyes on the eternal prize.

Sunday October 30, 2017

Here's some notes from Sunday's service.  (Thanks, Jean)

Dr. Spencer Barclay-Something to Think About
Theme: Why did Jesus come to earth?

Luke 19:10 for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Man made his own decision to eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge; by making this decision man tried to become God, believing the lie the serpent told to Eve. Ever since Adam and Eve disobeyed God mankind has gone astray, deceived into thinking they do not need God. Therefore God had to become man. After man sinned in the garden, his relationship with God was broken and man felt his sin and hid from God. Because of sin, death entered the world. Christ came to earth to restore our relationship with God, pardon our sin and commute our life sentence. Why did Christ come to earth?--to seek and save that which was lost. To seek us, build a relationship with us and save our souls from a lost eternity in hell.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Pastor Caroline – Theme: Let him lead.

The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord

We can trust God will answer our need. God will not answer our greed. We need to take time and rest in the Lord. God leads us beside the still waters, God wants our hearts to be at peace. God wants to bring us into a time of restoration and healing. We need to let him lead us, where he would have us go and he will provide an answer to what we need is in his time, not our own.
