Notes from Sunday's service.   (Thanks, Jean)

Rev. Roxann Spicer:
We need to love our brother and sister like Christ, willing to wash their feet out of humility and always point them in the right direction.

John 13:1-15

As we live in this world, we can often get worldly stuff on us, and only Jesus can wash us clean and remove the filth and dust the world leaves on our spiritual life. Jesus washed the disciples feet out of great humility and love not out of condemnation and judgement. We need to come into agreement with Christ and let him wash off any filth we may have trafficked in,  while going through this world.
God disciplines us out of love, similar to when another christian may give us correction in our lifestyle and help us in our christian walk or encourage us when we are doing a service to the Lord. When we genuinely love each other we will do our best to help them and ensure they are ready to meet Jesus at any time. When we love each other, we will care so much for their souls, that we will bring a word of correction or a word of exhortation and encouragement when needed, as we never want to lose a precious brother or sister to the enemy. Whenever another Christian gives us instruction or correction we need to be willing to listen and not take offence.
When there is anything in our lives that puts a space between us and God we need to clean it up as soon as possible, because we need to be ready to meet Christ at all times.
